concert POSTERS
This series of posters was a conceptual project for an avant-garde jazz musician. Avant-jazz is improvised, experimental and non-traditional. Gabriel is a musician in his early career and a recent graduate. I wanted his posters to bring awareness of his music to a youthful crowd and imagined them being placed where young people hang out. The images reflect sound passing through, movement and rhythm while choosing a bright color scheme to call attention. I kept a grid and consistent type layout while adding hand made textures to the graphic elements of the design reflecting the scratchy, broken and experimental sounds that come through this style of music.
